Belen Basombrio (Buenos Aires, 1956) is a visual artist, teacher and National Professor of Fine Arts at the Instituto Superior Santa Ana (1980). She completed the SEU at the National University Institute of the Arts (IUNA, 2004). She trained in Contemporary Art, with Alicia Romero and Marcelo Gimenez at Cromos, Centro de Estudios de Arte (2009-2017) and completed a Specialization in Ceramics at the Condorhuasi Foundation (1997-2005).
Ms. Basombrio provided Art Workshops for Refugee Women at the Libera Foundation, Italy (2023) and Art Workshops for Children at the Cultural Center of Science (2022).
She won the First Prize at the International Pictorial Triennial of Tijuana, Mexico, for her textile art work “En Blanco” (2022). Ms. Basombrio held solo exhibitions in Puerto de Júcaro, Cuba (2019), London (2016) and in Buenos Aires. She participated in the 7th World Textile Art, SUBTE Exhibition Center, Montevideo (2017). She resides in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she has her Ceramic Workshop and her business venture Adorado Arte.
