“Delante del agua profunda, eliges tu visión; puedes ver, según te plazca, el fondo inmóvil o la corriente, la orilla o el infinito; tienes el ambiguo derecho de ver y de no ver; tienes el derecho de vivir con el barquero o de vivir con ‘una raza nueva de hadas laboriosas, dotadas de un gusto perfecto, magníficas y minuciosas’.
El hada de las aguas, guardiana del espejismo, tiene en su mano todos los pájaros del cielo. Un charco contiene un universo. Un instante de sueño contiene un alma entera”.

‘In front of the deep water, you choose your vision; you can see, as you please, the motionless bottom or the currents, the shore or infinity; you have the ambiguous right to see and not see; You have the right to live with the ferryman or to live with «a new race of industrious fairies, endowed with perfect taste, magnificent and meticulous».
The water fairy, guardian of the mirage, has in her hand all the birds of the sky. A puddle contains a universe. A moment of sleep contains an entire soul’.
